It would seem that wine vinegars are much more common on the continent than in the UK. Lack of grapes is one explanation, but also kosher rules make it easier to use non-grape versions. That’s a shame because wine vinegar is a much more flavoursome choice. Here are two very decent examples, both white and red variety.
Tips: Salad dressings obviously but remember that adding wine vinegar to your meat dishes instead of wine can be a really tasty alternative and add a bit more of a twang.
